The Norfolk Library

LIBRARY ASSOCIATES

In 1974 a small group of civic-minded Norfolk women organized the Library Associates. Their mission was, and still is, to support, promote and expand the library's services. In the early years they sponsored exhibits to showcase local artists; then introduced musical concerts and fund-raising to support those events. Over the years, the organization and its projects have grown in size and scope.

Each year the group donates hundreds of hours to library services and fund-raising projects such as auctions, author book-signings and the annual book sale. The proceeds support art exhibits, adults'and children's musical and literary programs, library interns and the purchase of extra goods and services not included in the Board of Trustees' budget. Membership in the Library Associates is open to any person who wishes to contribute his or her time and talents to the Norfolk Library.

The Library Associates is a 501 C (3) non-profit organization.
