Community Connections

Date: 02/03/2021
Time: 10:30 am-11:30 am

As we learned in The New York Times January 27 feature*, Who’s Making All Those Scam Calls, unsuspecting people lost $3.5 billion to telephone scam artists. And scammers are not just using the telephone. The Internet affords a “veil of anonymity” that has us receiving email requests from Nigerian princes in need of money, long lost relatives who want to give you an inheritance, or even just average citizens who may be less than honest in their online-dating profiles. Join us for our next Community Connections hour this Wednesday, February 3, at 10:30 a.m. to chat about Internet scams. The National Iron Bank will provide a brief presentation and then the floor will be open to anyone who wants to share their own scam experience.
