Nell Irvin Painter is Edwards Professor of American History Emerita at Princeton University and author of, among other notable books, The History of White People (2010) and Sojourner Truth, A Life, A Symbol (1996). She is the recipient of virtually every major fellowship and honor the profession has to offer. She will be joined in conversation by Byron Kim and Lisa Sigal, co-directors of the Yale Norfolk School of Art.
