The Norfolk Library offers passes or discount access to some of Connecticut’s finest museums through the use of your library card. They can be checked out just like you would a book. See the circulation desk for more information or to check out one of the below passes.

The Children’s Museum (West Hartford)

Free admission with each paid admission.

Everyone must have a timed ticket!

Tickets are currently sold one-week in advance to allow the museum to make modifications as needed.

When selecting your visit time please keep in mind that you are allowed to check-in at any time during your scheduled visit. But, they suggest arriving within the first hour of your scheduled exploration timeThe time/date that you select for your ticket is your entry period. Do not arrive before your ticket time. Most visitors stay for 45min-1hr. but, you are welcome to stay for two hours. 

Library patrons using our library membership passes will need to reserve timed tickets online using the following three easy steps:

  1. Call The Children’s Museum (860.231.2824) or email info@thechildrensmuseumct.org for a library discount code after you have checked out our library pass.
  2. After you have both a library pass and a discount code, go to the museum website at www.thechildrensmuseumct.org/visit/timed-tickets/to purchase tickets.
  3. Enter the discount code provided by The Children’s Museum to receive your discounted admission.

Please note, that members will also need to present their library pass in person upon checking in at the museum. If they are not able to provide a valid library pass, photo ID and timed ticket, they will be required to pay for any discounted admission.

Connecticut Historical Society Museum and Library (Hartford, CT)

Free admission for up to 2 adults and 4 children.

Florence Griswold Museum (Old Lyme, CT)
Free admission for up to 2 adults and 4 children.

**ACCESS LIMITED: All guests are required to make an advance reservation 24 hours prior to visiting the Museum. Reservations may be made at https://florencegriswoldmuseum.org/tickets/.

KidsPlay (Torrington, CT)
Half off admission for up to 6

**ACCESS LIMITED: All visitors are required to reserve or purchase a timed-entry ticket in advance to help KidsPlay manage capacity and provide plenty of space for physical distance between groups of visitors.

Mattatuck Museum (Waterbury, CT)
Free admission for 4 adults.

**ACCESS LIMITED: Timed admission tickets must be purchased prior to your visit. We are asking visitors to keep their visit to no more than 90 minutes and to arrive no more than 5 minutes ahead of your timed admission.

To secure a timed admission spot, please call our front desk at 203-753-0381 x130. Our visitor services staff would be happy to schedule a visit time! Please do not register online at this time as the discount is not currently reflected with our online registration system.

New Britain Museum of American Art (New Britain, CT)
Free admission up to 4 people.

**ACCESS LIMITED: Visitors are required to make reservations online in advance at https://nbmaa.org/visit. The Museum will allow 15 entry tickets per every 15 minutes. Those using a museum pass should register as a member, using the library’s name as the member name and present the Museum Pass at the front desk upon arrival.

Wadsworth Atheneum

Free admission to the Wadsworth Atheneum. No Museum Pass needed.
